XEOMIN® is a botulinum toxin type A that was approved by the United States (U.S.) Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the temporary improvement in the appearance of moderate to severe glabellar lines, or frown lines between the eyebrows, in adult patients on July 20, 2011.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How does XEOMIN® work?
- XEOMIN® works by blocking the transmission of signals from nerves to the muscles, by hindering the production of the neurotransmitter (the chemical which relays the signals). When used for cosmetic purposes, this causes the muscle to relax giving it a smoother appearance for a temporary period of time.
- The median first onset of XEOMIN® effect occurs within seven days after injection. The typical duration of effect of each treatment is up to three months; however, the effect may last significantly longer, or shorter, in individual patients.
